Risk Management
Enterprise Risk Management
While Enterprise Risk Management has developed significantly in certain sectors in the past decade or so, developing it as a cross-organisation discipline is a significant challenge. Forestall help its clients identify both the structures required for managing cross-organisation risks, and implementing the tool sets to manage current risks and horizon scan for emerging ones.
We help align your approach to international best practice, (ISO 31000), with a focus on clarity, information sharing and pragmatism. We use a reiterative approach, to ensure that risks, controls and metrics are realistic and effectively managed.
We can work on and develop client toolsets, or provide you with a secure, hosted ERM (self or external), allowing for single or multi-user access and management.
Let’s have a conversation about how you want to manage your organisation’s risks.
Business Continuity Management
We have extensive experience in developing and implementing Business Continuity in small, medium, and large organisations, including semi-state, private sector and not-for-profit.
Organisations are faced with the prospect of disruptions occurring at any time, with or without forewarning. We offer a way through these situations with the benefit of our experience and resources.
Risks vary from industry to industry and can be as diverse as Supply-Chain Disruption, Natural Disasters, Industrial Accidents, and Power Outages. Criminal Activity and Cyber-Attacks occur throughout each day in every sector. Organisations are now identifying a return on investment from their business continuity programmes. Our name is our approach – through detailed exploration with our client’s workforce and key stakeholders we look to forestall (anticipate and mitigate) disruptive risks. We work on developing strong internal capabilities that strengthens our client’s resilience – resilience that underpins an organisation’s capacity and growth.
Our approach is aligned to internationally recognised standards, (ISO 22301: NFPA 1600) which we apply to our client’s frameworks as required.

Supply Chain Risk Management
Forestall’s supply chain risk management experience enables our clients to proactively identify, assess, prioritise, mitigate and manage risks for improved business outcomes. We help you map your supply stakeholders, associated networks, identify key risks, assess their potential impacts and prepare supply chain mitigation and contingency plans well in advance to manage the likelihood and impact. We incorporate this as a critical component of business continuity services.
Forestall embeds supply chain risk assessment and management into our client’s supply chain strategy. There are a number of factors that we incorporate into our approach, including financial, geopolitical, industry sector, environmental and operational.
Supplier Resilience Assessment
Supply chains rely on third parties, with varying degrees of criticality for your operations. Visibility of supplier’s resilience is challenging, even when actively undertaken. When a disruption occurs, any delay in recovery of your products and services can allow a competitor’s more resilient supply chain to increase their market presence. We work with our clients to clearly understand the financial, strategic, governance, behavioural, and operational strengths – vulnerabilities of key suppliers and buyers.
Our supplier resilience assessment assists in developing a review process of your multi-tiered critical suppliers’ continuity programmes
Risk Training & Mentoring
We have experience across the spectrum of risk and have worked with all levels within client organisations, across multiple sectors. Our background is in individual and team mentoring, training & development. We have mentored business continuity, crisis and enterprise risk managers in state, private sector and not-for-profit organisations. We can tailor our support to suit the experience of the party involved, from on-the job training to support-as-required programme’s.
Our training approach is based on our experience of real-life events and so we are acutely aware of the challenges individuals face when dealing with a crisis. We tailor our approach based on your culture and values, but we are also honest and direct in what will be required to best navigate a high-pressure situation and give your team the skills and knowledge to get your organisation through in the most successful way. Risk mentoring works for many organisations as it provides a safety support in crisis. We can’t manage your crisis, but we can ensure your team have expert support when they need it.
